Rod Clark has been the Principal and Chief Executive of the National School of Government since August 2008. Previously he was the interim Executive Director at the Legal Services Commission. He was a Director General with the Ministry of Justice with responsibility for Strategy and he played a major role in the launch of the department in 2007. Previously he established the Strategy Unit at DWP and led the development of its five year departmental plan. Prior to that he has held a number of senior roles in DWP and DSS and worked on an HM Treasury project setting up a new agency. He has also spent time working in the private sector with PA Consulting.

Patricia Greer
Director, Strategic Client Relations and Learning Delivery

Patricia Greer has been the Director of Strategic Client Relations since April 2009. She joined the National School of Government from Surrey County Council with 3 years experience as a Strategic Director, leading first the Policy and Performance Directorate and then the Customers and Communities Directorate. Patricia previously worked as Deputy Director for the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit for 5 years and has over 8 years management consultancy experience specialising in public sector delivery and strategy for major firms within both the public and private sector. Patricia started her career as an academic leading a programme of work on public service reform in the UK and has published extensively on the topic. As Patricia has worked in a variety of roles within the public sector, she has an excellent understanding of the challenges facing the public sector and the issues for public sector reform.

Elaine Lorimer
Director of Corporate Services

Elaine joined the National School from the Office of the Rail Regulator, where initially she was Deputy Director of Legal Services and latterly Deputy Director of a policy department where she project managed a major piece of regulatory policy. She managed a varied programme of learning and development for Government lawyers, which is accredited by the Law Society and Bar Council, at the National School until November 2006 when she took up her current post as the Director of Corporate Services. Previously Elaine worked in Corporate Services in local government in Scotland.
