Sunningdale is situated 40 km (25 miles) west of London, near to Ascot in Berkshire. There are great rail and road links connecting Sunningdale to both the north and the south of England.

Transport Information

Train
Trains from Waterloo take 50 minutes to Sunningdale station and are met by National School transport at peak times.

Sunday: All arrivals at Sunningdale station will be met by complimentary taxi. You may pre-book with Reception on 01344 634 000.

Monday to Friday: All arrivals at Sunningdale station between 08:00 and 10:45 and 16:00 and 18:00 will be met. (Shuttle service every 15 minutes).

For complimentary transport to and from the station between 08:00 and 22:00 but outside of the shuttle times, please contact Reception on 01344 634 000.

If you require transport before 08:00 or after 22:00 Reception can arrange this for you but you will have to pay the taxi fare.

Car
Please note that car parking space is limited at Sunningdale Park.

Via M25 - Leave M25 at Junction 13
If you are travelling Southbound, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout. If you are travelling Northbound, take the 4th exit. This is sign-posted ‘A30 Bagshot’ and runs alongside the sliproad back up to the M25. At next roundabout take the 2nd exit ‘A30 Basingstoke / Camberley’. Follow this road, straight over first set of traffic lights; continue on this road for about 2 miles to second set of traffic lights. Proceed to third set of traffic lights (‘Wentworth Golf Club’ on your left) and turn right onto A329 ‘Blacknest Road’. Follow this for about 2 miles and then turn left ‘B383 Silwood Road’, signposted to Sunningdale Park, then take the first right into Larch Avenue and after a short distance, the main entrance is on your left.

Via M4 (from the West) – Leave M4 at Junction 10
Take the exit sign-posted ‘A329 (M) Wokingham’. Then take the ‘A329 (M) Bracknell’. From Bracknell follow the A329 to Ascot. In Ascot follow the A329 towards Virginia Water for about 1 mile then turn right into the ‘B383 Silwood Road’, signposted to Sunningdale Park. Take the first right off Silwood Road into Larch Avenue and after a short distance, the main entrance is on your left.

Via M4 (from London) – Leave M4 at Junction 6
Take the A355 south, over the river turn onto the A332 through Windsor and Windsor Great Park. Once out of the Park, take the first exit at the large roundabout onto the B383, cross over the A329, still on the B383, then first right into Larch Avenue and the main entrance is a short distance on the left.

Via M3 – Leave M3 at Junction 3
Take the exit sign-posted ‘A322 Bracknell’, pass a set of traffic lights, take the 2nd turning on the left, the A30 London/Staines/Heathrow; follow this road for about 2 miles. After Sunningdale Railway Station, drive over the crossing and take the first left turn, ‘B383 Sunninghill/Ascot, Broomhall Lane’. Follow this road and Larch Avenue can be found on the right hand side after climbing a hill (Rise Road). There is a sign to Sunningdale Park.

Air

Heathrow
The longstanding arrangement of having a coach routinely stationed at Heathrow to pick up National School attendees has changed.

If you require transport from Heathrow on a Sunday, please complete the relevant sections on the administration form or contact your Programme Administrator with your flight details, mobile telephone number and estimated time of arrival. They in turn, will arrange a complimentary taxi from Heathrow to Sunningdale Park through our partners here, De Vere Venues.

Please note that we will not be able to refund any expenditure that you may incur engaging a private taxi.

For arrivals on any other day you will need to make your own arrangements. Options are; Railair bus to Feltham, then train to Sunningdale (this is the fastest route) or Railair bus to Reading, then train to Sunningdale. You can book a taxi via a local company we use, Atlas Cars, their number is 01344 874874. The cost will have to be met by you and travel from Heathrow is normally around £35. Please book in advance to ensure availability.

There is a complimentary return service to Heathrow on Fridays leaving Trevelyan reception at 14:00. If you require transport at any other time then a taxi can be arranged but it will be at your own expense.

Gatwick
Take the train to Clapham Junction then change for Sunningdale.
