Achieving more with less

The scale of the fiscal challenge for the public sector is daunting. We must all perform extraordinary feats if the public sector is to prioritise successfully and deliver high-quality services with much less money. Stripping out waste, focusing on delivering quality that is fit for purpose, learning the tools and techniques of economy, efficiency and effectiveness will help squeeze out every last drop of value from our budgets.

About the workshop

This workshop will help you:
  • understand the sourcing options available to central government departments and the wider public sector, including local authorities and identify their strengths and drawbacks
  • assess the key benefits and risks for their organisation of the alternative model
  • understand the principles that ensure success in sourcing projects and cement the right type of partnership
  • generate ideas for using sourcing initiatives which could transform the capacity of their organisation to achieve success
  • understand and gain experience of alternative finance models behind different service delivery models.
Learning will use case studies, new models and speakers who have led successful processes. You will be able to apply some of the learning from these best practice examples to your own department. You'll also be able to discuss the lessons learned so you have a better understanding of the pitfalls and difficulties likely to crop up during implementation.
