Accreditors’ Professional Update and Development Event
Meeting the challenge - effective accreditation in a changing world
27-28 September 2011, Sunningdale Park

Reaping the benefits and striking a balance in a modern digital economy, whilst addressing the associated risks - those connected to cyber space and those from more traditional sources such as staff - is a difficult balance. This year's Accreditors' Professional Update and Development Event continues the theme of making accreditation more proportionate, and considers how some major projects are facing the challenges, as well as the latest thinking on IA policy and opportunities to develop personal effectiveness. This event offers you the opportunity to keep up to date, develop professionally, and look ahead to new opportunities presented by technology and the new threats we face.

This event will focus on current issues facing the IA community, including:

  • the new Government ICT Strategy which renews the emphasis on common infrastructure underpinned by common standards.
  • the publication of a new Cyber Security and Information Assurance Strategy (due to be published this spring) which will focus on cyber security as one of government's top four security priorities.
  • at a more local level - with our budgets and staff numbers reducing, discuss how we can support our SIROs and assure our systems while meeting the government's challenge of spending money better, rather than spending more.
