Programme Directory for 2010/2011 Launched

18 January 2010

The National School of Government today launches its new programme directory for 2010/2011. The directory sets out the range of services that the National School provides to promote learning and development in the public services.

Rod Clark, Principal and Chief Executive of the National School explains:
"Today's Civil Service has to deliver more with less. The coming year promises to be one of both stimulation and huge challenge for the civil service. Our insider status as part of government means that we are particularly well placed to deliver practical, relevant learning and help inspire new thinking in government. We are here to help accelerate transformation of public services."

The directory contains details of some 300 open programmes and courses along with information about consultancy and tailored programmes, e-learning, and the new Civil Service Core Learning Programme that the National School has been commissioned to develop by the Civil Service Learning and Skills Board.

"It is clear that the public sector will be confronted with some serious challenges in the future," said Gus O'Donnell, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service, concluding, "The National School of Government is a vital tool to help us meet them."
