A SENSIBLE SHORTCUT - ENGAGING THE SERVICES OF THE NATIONAL SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT
Procurement processes work to get the customer and ultimately the tax payer the best possible deal. But time is money and the reality is that sometimes there are circumstances where the red tape around procurement can be counter-productive.
Why it works
In these situations Departments and Agencies can save time and money by buying our services without going through competitive procurement. It's an effective way of cutting through red tape and getting what they want and need faster. They can do this because of our position in government. Because the National School is a Crown body, other parts of the Crown, which includes Departments and their Agencies, can buy our services without going through competitive procurement. The result is faster delivery of the service, time saved and reduced costs. It's been agreed by the Treasury Solicitor's Department and complements the new OGC Buying Solutions Framework Agreement
A sensible shortcut
Departments are required to satisfy themselves that they achieve value for money as well as contributing to a joined-up civil service. As a government department ourselves we would insist they assure themselves of this. By dealing with us direct in the first instance, for an informal or formal proposal on meeting your training needs you can use the National School as a benchmark.
People are experienced enough when procuring services to know when it a shortcut is the sensible thing to do to save time, money and give faster delivery. If you are in this position please do contact us.
Why the National School?
We exist to create a better and improved public service. That is our driver - not seeking to make a profit. We offer real value for money by recovering only our costs and our in-depth understanding of the public sector allows us to help organisations deliver more with less and experience the many benefits of genuine performance improvement.
