European issues are at the heart of much of the work that the Civil Service does, whether it's economic reform or environmental protection. We offer a wide range of EU learning and development; from introductory and advanced training programmes and consultancy, to visits to government training organisations in European countries. This breadth and depth of learning will enable you to work successfully with the EU institutions and fellow Member States.

Message from Jon Cunliffe, Prime Minister's Adviser on International Economic Affairs and Europe, Cabinet Office
The European Union is of key importance to the UK, contributing to our economic prosperity and wellbeing. And increasingly, in a world of global challenges, it is through working together with our European partners, within the framework of the Union, that the UK can most effectively achieve its aims. Challenges such as organised crime, secure energy supplies and climate change can not be resolved as domestic issues.
Over my Civil Service career, the EU has become a critical factor in an ever growing number of policy issues. Having the professional skills and knowledge to work effectively in the EU is increasingly essential to engage in policy development delivery across government.
So I am delighted to introduce the latest EU learning and development available from the National School of Government. The range includes introductory programmes for all, overseas visits, toolkits for handling particular elements of UK-EU business and practical workshops for developing co-decision skills, as well as consultancy and development of tailored solutions.
I really do encourage you to take advantage of what is on offer. It will be a worthwhile investment in your own development and a worthwhile investment for the UK.
