Better use of alternatives to regulation
To avoid excessive, clumsy regulation which stifles productivity and effectiveness, a report from the Better Regulation Task Force, published on 17 September (Imaginative thinking for better regulation), calls for better consideration of all available measures, including 'do nothing', when implementing policy objectives.
