On 5 May 2005, the Asia-Pacific Centre for Philanthropy and Social Investment, Swinburne University of Technology published a report (How the wealthy give: comparisons between Australia and comparable countries: USA, Britain and Canada) which found that, in general, the wealthy in Australia are not contributing as generously as they could and arguably as they should.
A
further report (Encouraging
wealthy Australians to be more philanthropic) examined strategies and ideas that
have been used in Australia and other countries (mainly the US and UK)
to persuade wealthy people to be more philanthropic.
