State of Children's Rights in England 2004

On 29 November 2004, Children's Rights Alliance for England - a coalition of more than 230 voluntary and statutory organisations committed to children's rights, published a report (State of Children's Rights in England 2004: annual review of UK Government action on 2002 Concluding Observations of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child). It claims that, in the previous year, progress has been made on 17 of the 78 recommendations issued in October 2002 to the UK by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, to make law, policy and practice compatible with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which it ratified in 1991.

The report can be viewed on the Children's Rights Alliance for England website.
