On 29 November 2007, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) published Criminal statistics 2006 - the annual National Statistics release, presented on a calendar year basis covering offenders dealt with by formal police cautions, reprimands or warning, or criminal court proceedings in England and Wales. The order of chapters follows the flow of cases through the criminal justice system. As in previous years, more detailed data for the calendar year covered are published separately in five volumes of supplementary tables.
