On 5 November 2009, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) published a report which examines the sentences that offenders receive for drug law violations across the European Union.
The report analyses the most recent year’s statistics and seeks to determine the most likely outcome for an offender after being stopped by police for a drug law offence of use, personal possession, supply or trafficking. An online annex provides links to results by country.
