On 16 November 2004, at the Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) annual conference, the Scottish Executive announced additional funding of £44 million for the two years up to 2008 for the Executive's Determined to Succeed (DtS) strategy for enterprise in education. The aim is to help change the attitudes of young people, so that they have a better chance of realising their full potential.
YES is built on a network of voluntary advisers working with schools to deliver meaningful opportunities. Partnerships with other organisations, such as the Princes Trust, provide tailored learning experiences for young people with specific needs.
The Executive's Enterprise in Education strategy, Determined to Succeed, was launched in March 2003.
