The implications of housing type/size mix and density

The National Housing and Planning Advice Unit (NHPAU) published a report on 1 March 2010 which looks at the viability and affordability of new housing.

The report develops a model to understand how the price of a house is influenced by the mix of housing and the density of housing in the surrounding area. The model is used to estimate the viability of a range of housing projects with different mixes and densities in selected local authority case study areas. The report also examines how the mix and density of homes built on a site affects how affordable they are.
