Children’s centres in rural communities

Published by the Commission for Rural Communities (CRC) on 25 November 2009, this summary report provides an overview of the challenges and opportunities associated with the delivery of children’s centres in rural areas and the experiences and perspectives of parents of young children.

The summary report sets out the key areas in which change is needed to improve support for families through rural children’s centres. In addition, it raises some important concerns for providers and funders of such services, centring on accessibility; provision of employment and training; and isolation and poverty.
