On 9 November 2006, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) published a report (Neighbourhood security and urban change: risk, resilience and recovery ) which investigates how crime, physical disorder and anti-social behaviour - and responses to them - shape the ways places change over time.
The report argues that enhancing neighbourhood security depends upon interventions to deal with crime and disorder at neighbourhood level being matched to the specific needs of individual areas. It suggests a framework for better understanding such issues and what can be done to address them.
The report can be viewed on the JRF website. A free summary can also be downloaded from the JRF site .
