On 20 December 2006, the Department of Health (DH) published a report (Analysis of the National Childhood Obesity Database 2005-06) which summarises the data available and provides high-level analysis of the prevalence of overweight and obesity among the children measured in 2005-06.
The National Childhood Obesity Database has been established as part of the Government's programme to tackle the continuing rise in obesity, and specifically obesity in children.
