On 20 December 2005, the Centre for Health Economics (CHE), Monash University published a report (Translational research in the area of inequalities in health related to obesity in Australia ) which questions current economic theories about obesity, "an important, if not the most important, public health concern of the future". The report presents preliminary results of quantitative analysis of Australian data to support theories, and map out possible areas for future research. The paper aims to set a framework for a dialogue which may ultimately help translate research findings into useable evidence for policy makers.
The full report can be viewed on the CHE website (pdf).
