Savings and children

A report from Mintel (Saving Products for Children - UK - October 2003) published on 24 October 2003, highlights a difficult savings environment, with frequency of saving proving a problem. Just under two fifths of parents save regularly for their children, and a third of parents are unable to save for their children's future. Funding children's education is parents' top savings priority, but four million parents are unable to provide for eventualities such as university fees.

The summary of the report can be viewed on the Mintel site.
