On 14 November 2006, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) published a report (Making user involvement work: supporting service user networking and knowledge) which provides the first in-depth examination of two key components for effective user involvement in health and social care service provision - user networking and knowledge. It teports the views of a diverse range of service users nationally.
There is now both an increasing interest in and questioning of user involvement in health and social care. As government policy emphasises the need for user involvement in policy and provision, this study provides a timely exploration of the state of service user networking and knowledge.
The report can be viewed on the JRF website. A free summary can also be downloaded from the JRF site
