Transport 'tarnishing' UK as a place to do business
On 27 October 2003, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) issued a report (Is transport holding the UK back?) which shows that UK domestic transport is being outperformed by competitors including US, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
85% of senior business people believe that investment decisions are influenced by the quality of transport and almost 70% consider the UK transport system to be poor.
