First round of local transport plans: analysis

18 December: Department for Transport published a report (Delivering better local transport: key achievements and good practice from the first round of local transport plans also known as Atkins report) which covers key achievements and good practice from the first round of local transport plans. These include

• significantly larger capital budgets have been allocated and spent on on ficussed strategies for local transport
• larger and more complex programmes being delivered
• considerable progress against national targets
• more consultation with stakeholders
