Buying a Better Future - Purchasing as if the Planet Mattered

designed for

Public servants wanting to make an impact on sustainable purchasing and whole life costing in real work.

objectives

You want to dig a little further into sustainable procurement. You are quite new to the subject and you want to get a good grounding in what it is all about. Or you are an existing practitioner trying to apply sustainability principles to purchasing activity and running into obstacles. Either way we aim to move you on during this two-day exercise (lunchtime to lunchtime) the next day.

We plan to encourage you by exposing you to examples across several sectors, and to create some 'clinic space' for people to bring casework for group discussion with friendly experts.

organisational benefit

Bring real projects to the programme and go back with a strengthened sense of how to get the outcomes you want.

programme

This is a lively introduction to what has become a fast moving topic, with examples drawn not only from public sector practice, but from other sectors such as food and fashion.

Our aim is to stimulate and inspire your interest in what is sometimes seen as a dry topic.
